Why SPs Make a Difference: A Disabled Client’s View

One of the underlying assumptions in the anti-sex work debate is that everyone who ‘deserves’ to have sex will magically have a partner to have sex with. The debate rarely considers people who might not have opportunities for conventional sexual liaisons, or conventional relationships. Fortunately, there are people who have the talent and willingness to be service providers (SPs), and the rest of the human race is grateful for it.

One such grateful person (and Allegra regular) goes by the moniker of ‘Hot Wheels.’ He describes himself as a “typical physically disabled guy; my personality is not hindered by physical disability.” Other people who know Hot Wheels – including his friends at Allegra – describe him as a fun, cute, funny, kinda smart, down-to-earth guy who happens to be in a wheelchair.

Hot Wheels has turned to SPs an as accessible way to enjoy the sexual/sensual intimacy that he and all human beings are entitled to. Here’s what he had to tell us about his choice, and his experiences.

Allyson Creighton: Why did you decide to seek out an escort?

Hot Wheels: I sought out an escort because I have not been with a beautiful female in a very long time. About 10 years ago, I had pneumonia, which took a lot out of me, and I was not the same after that. Now that I’m older, I think differently. I thought, “Why am I letting my inhibitions or pride get in the way of a natural human need?” I also went the courtesan route because I knew I wouldn’t be judged and looked upon as a charity case.

Allyson: Why is having access to a service provider important to you?

Hot Wheels: It’s important to me because it would be almost impossible to get my rocks off otherwise! On a more serious note, I’ve done the girlfriend thing. It is so much work for an able-bodied person and double for a disabled person. A service provider cuts out the before bed call/chat, the hour-long back-and-forth trying to decide where to go eat, and the watching of prime time dramas/reality shows.

Allyson: What attracted you to the Allegra Collective?

Hot Wheels: I was attracted because every girl was gorgeous, and it wasn’t the typical ‘agency’.  Agencies and things like Backpage scare me; there’s too much lying and unknowns in those scenarios. With the collective, you know a lot more about the people involved, so you feel safe and you know that the ladies themselves are in a safe environment.

Allyson: Who have you been with, and what has the experience been like?

Hot Wheels: I have had the pleasure to have been with the beautiful blue jay Nikki Thomas. I don’t think first my first encounter could have gone any better. I was intrigued by her because her own site
